I told you I'd be back! This time I went with friends out of town and boy did they impress. Of course we had to get the pork souvlaki and brussel sprouts, but this time we tried a couple new veggie dishes. Rainbow carrots were sweet and savory and sugar snaps were a good starter like edamame. Grilled octopus ceviche was not my favorite because of the watermelon but definitely an acquired taste. Finished with the feta cheese gnocchi! Restaurant was packed the second we walked in around open and music was playing! Hopefully I'll be back soon.

Wonderful flavors and friendly staff. It was our first time there and it was packed! Got the waitlist at the bar and it took about an hour to get seated but they give you a little snack and drink menu while you wait. We got the cornbread during our wait and it was delicious! Sweet and savory with a bit of spice. We got our seat at the bar and had no idea what to try but the bar staff were super friendly and offered recommendations. The lamb sliders were juicy and spiced well. The honeydew salad was a surprise hit. We were a little nervous about all the different flavors but it all just worked so well together. It was a nice change from the savoriness of the other dishes. The inside is very cozy and colorful. Not too loud either for conversation. Would definitely go again to try the other menu items!

My wife and I wanted to try this for our anniversary. Par for the course, it was a last minute decision with no reservation. For those who know Sarma, it is always a very popular place that books out weeks in advance. Thankfully though the friendly staff were able to take our name for walk ins and we got bar seating after waiting for one drinks worth. For the also poor planners out there, if you are risking it without reservation I would recommend going early or late. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Several worked together between bar tender, waiter and busser to answer various questions we had with the menu and guaranteed a pleasant evening. Finally the food. Let me start with saying the hype is worth it. Each dish we had was unique in flavor and a party on our taste buds. There is an element of spice with many dishes to be aware when ordering there may be a kick when eating.

I have never felt so strongly about a review before. Sarma is 10/10 the BEST restaurant in Boston, and deserves all of the praise it gets. Every single dish we had here was out of this world. We had the warm gyro bread, Black Sea cornbread, lamb loin chops, fried chicken, the merguez manti, and lamb kofte sliders. Every single dish was a "wow" moment. The service and atmosphere are all incredible. Like I said, I can't speak highly enough about this place. Highly recommend :)

Simply amazing! Every single thing we had was delicious! The harissa duck was my absolute favorite followed by the cornbread. Amaro selection was awesome too! Service was great and prompt. Solid bustling ambiance I definitely want to come back and try more dishes

I am in town for a few days and saw this place was 1200 feet from my rental. I walked over around 7pm and the place was packed on a Monday night. The place has a funky vibe between the colors, the brick, open kitchen and music selection. Cocktails were on pointe and every single thing was flawless. I had the zucchini fritters which are more like a bread pudding consistency. Perfect, creamy, little pops of pomegranate and pepitas. Next I had the baby artichokes which have a handful of different vegetables in it as well. Delicious. I ate the leftovers tonight with a spoonful of hummus. I would recommend getting the warm bread to go with this dish since it was rich. Lastly I had the lamb sliders which are perfection. The yogurt is so rich against the pickles and the spice is just right. The staff was on it and hustled in a way that showed their passion for the restaurant and that they are awesome! The bartenders recommended 2-3 items per person. I know I cannot eat a lot at one sitting but I wanted to try multiple things. I just had some of the leftovers for dinner and could likely get a third serving from it. Yes you should go! Yes you should make a reservation.

Thank you Sarma for giving me a favorite restaurant in Boston! They're rated by several sources as one of Boston's top restaurants, for good reason. Reservations are difficult to come by but they seem to have a decent amount of seating by the bar. Dishes are not delicious and made with high quality ingredients, they're also beautifully presented and very creative with the flavors. My favorites were the cornbread (very filling, loved the peppers and feta inside) and duck (super juicy and flavorful); would 100% order again. Fried chicken (off-menu; from what I can tell, it comes out about every hour, starting roughly at 5:30) was very solid. I greatly enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, which also were super flavorful (loved that garlic aioli on the bottom). For dessert we had the "baklava cones", which was a light, refreshing way to end the meal.

The corner of the restaurant we were seated was a bit too dim - my eyes felt really tired from squinting by the end of the meal All the food was very good. Interesting mix of textures and flavors. The harissa duck and sugar snap peas are excellent. The cauliflower romanesco was very salty so it got old pretty fast
